I had the honor of knowing Bill for more than 30 years. I met him early in my career when I was a TV News Reporter. We became friends and crossed paths many times. He was always someone you could count on for help. He was more than a excellent police officer, he was a man dedicated to his family, his friends, and his community. My sympathies to the family, but please know those of of who knew Bill thank you for sharing him with us for so many years.

My condolences to the Shultz Family. I knew Billy growing up. He was like big brother to me. Billy was always there to protect you and when you needed him, even as a kid. I know that my dad (The Rev) is welcoming him and talking over old times with him now. Billy will be missed. I know I have not seen him in years but always kept up on what was going on in W Nanticoke and Nanticoke. Please know that you are all in our prayers in this time of need. Love, Suzanne Edwards Smerdon

My brother Robert just texted me about Billy's passing. I went right to my laptop so I could send our condolences. We've lost touch over the years but from what I've read in Billy's obituary and from others who worked with him and his friends, he hadn't changed at all, still loved his job and family. I'm sorry to hear about his cancer battle and so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself and God bless.
