Regina A. “Jean” Margalis, 89 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, December 29, 2020 at her home.

Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late Brynmor and Sophie (Kostecki) Collins.

Jean was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and was employed as a waitress at Denny’s Restaurant for over 40 years, retiring at the age of 82. She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains.

She was preceded in death by her husband Francis “Butch” Margalis on August 21, 1999, son Francis “Butch” Margalis on November 26, 2000, son-in-law John M. Boyle, Jr., sisters Dorothy Whitman, Margaret Brand, and her brother Frank Collins.

Surviving are her daughters Deborah Turner and her husband Robert, Hudson, and Donna Boyle and her partner William Reinard, Wilkes-Barre, grandchildren Shawn Boyle and his wife Sarah, Nicole Boyle and her husband Evan Brandt, Joshua Turner and his wife Megan, Bradley Turner and his fiancée Lauren Ricapito, and Michael Turner, great-grandchildren Miles, Nora, and Alexander Turner, sister Catherine Menechini, Pittston, nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.

Memorial donations may be made to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612, The SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, or Mommy and Me Pet Rescue, 610 E. 5th Street, Mt. Carmel, PA 17851 in Jean’s memory.
