John was wan exceptional person who I had the pleasure to work with during my time at Deloitte. He had a passion for doing the right thing in all cases, always willing to put in time to teach, train, coach, and chat. A happy man, proud of his family, and I can still recall him regaling me with tales of the backyard and other adventures with his family. I'm glad to have had the pleasure of working with John and will not forget him.

We were lucky to grow up in Hilldale. John's backyard was one of the many wiffleball fields. The front yard was a tackle football field, with one rule : don't tackle the ball carrier on the concrete sidewalk which ran down the middle of the field. The bunk house by the railroad tracks was a good hangout. John's parents were Aces. We played cards at Hud's Casino. Got thru 12 years of Sister School at Sacred Heart and Hoban. Played some chess and baseball along the way. During a Teener's League Baseball game at Plains High field, John hit the longest homerun I've seen. Basketball at the Oblates. Softball for the Polish Club at the Tank Diamond. The Barnsville Bavarian Summer Festival. Good memories. It was very nice to meet John's beautiful family. So sorry for your loss.

Stacy, John, Jason, Nicolette, and Sarah: I really admired and loved John. I am sorry I could not speak at the funeral but I got overwhelmed with emotions. Caution: I am not a good writer so this is going to be all over the place. I worked with John and he was truly one of the people I enjoyed seeing at work. He was a bit of a rebel and kind and told it like it was. I can still hear him yell down the hallway if we were working late or working on a weekend “Are we having fun yet!!!” To John, fun was outside the office with his family. Every time I hear the song “I don’t want to work I want to bang on the drum all day.” I will think of him. Growing up you must have thought the internet connection was a bit spotty. John loved to tell me that sometimes teenagers can get to engrossed on the internet on their phones and computers. So maybe you know this or maybe you don’t but he would frequently turn off the internet. He said you should try this sometime. He would say teenagers need to meet with their friends in person and get outside. I agree with Nicolette when she said that John would say that money didn’t matter. Also, know that John felt like he had won the lottery in marrying your mother. He didn’t need anything else. They were perfect for each other. John loved going on outdoor vacations with you to Snuggler’s Notch and Woodloch. I remember how excited he was recalling how the family in a name that tune type contest did extremely well in the contests. The tough part of being Catholic is that we forget that our goal is to live a virtuous life and the reward is we get to heaven where we will meet God and be reunited with loved ones and we will one day be reunited with them. Your faith will be challenged why God had to take John early but hang in there that is what he would want you to do. John’s greatest work is the lessons he has taught you and that you carry them in the future. I agree this is bullshit. Love, Eric Heinemann My theory on why John loved the show The Office: The obvious is it takes place in the Scranton area and it was one of the few shows the whole family could enjoy and connect. I think that before there was a Jim and Pam. There was a John and Stacy. I believe they met at work. I could see John kidding and playing jokes and laughing at the hypocrisy of the office while trying to get Stacy’s attention. To John, the office was not the be-all it was just something you had to do when you weren’t with family.

Recalling John at any time, always brought a smile to my face - that's the kind of guy he was. Brought light and laughter - it could be in the audit room, during the busiest of times, and the most stressful moments. You knew if John was going to be there - you were in good company. I had the privilege of working with John from when I was just a baby auditor at Deloitte - trying to figure out this crazy "mortgage" industry. John was patient and kind, and brought along us, trying to understand what we were doing - and how tax intersected with it. My sincere condolences to John's family - I will keep you in my prayers. And, will continue to have a big smile on my face, every time I think of John.

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of John's passing. As a young audit partner back in 2006 John certainly provided me with much needed guidance and support serving our mortgage banking clients. He always made himself available, day and night, and was absolutely a teacher at heart. To his family you are in my thoughts and prayers. John may you rest in peace.

I worked with John for over fifteen years, first when I was at law firm serving mutual clients and as a colleague at Deloitte. John was an extraordinarily gifted tax advisor who was well known nationally for his expertise. He was a big part of why I joined Deloitte. I could not agree more with the description of John as a man of great integrity. John was always doing the right thing, which I found inspiring. My heart goes out to John's family and am very thankful for having had the opportunity to know and work with John.

John was one of the first managing directors I worked with when I started at Deloitte. John was a kind and light hearted individual. One of John's favorite sayings after signing off a call was "Back to the action guys", we always said that should be made into a staples button instead of "that was easy". John will be missed, condolences to his family.

I worked with John for 20 years. His obituary has it right in calling him a man of integrity. He was always willing to help out, and was a consummate professional. My condolences to his family.

To the Niemiec Family, I was shocked and saddened to read of John's passing. My sincere condolences as John lived as all of us should live. HIs obituary is a testament to such a well-lived life. It was always a pleasure to converse with John decades ago when he came to recruit accounting majors at King's College. May he rest in the peace of Christ. Janet Mercincavage

I worked with John for many years and I was heartbroken when I saw the news of his passing. John was a great man and I enjoyed working with him in serving our Mortgage REIT and banking clients. I am truly saddened that he didn't get to enjoy many more years of retirement, however I am happy that he enjoyed some time doing what he loved (without having to worry about tax and audit deadlines). We will never forget you John and thanks for everything over the years, most importantly your friendship. Rest in peace and we will see you again..
