William J. “Joe” Corcoran, Sr., 80 of the Hilldale section of Plains Township, passed away Monday morning, March 27, 2023 at his home.

Born in Plains, PA on October 27, 1942, he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Mary (Naughton) Corcoran.

Joe was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains, Class of 1961, and was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He was employed as a graphic artist and owned and operated several of his own businesses. Joe was a member of the Plains American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon, Post 558, was a Regular Member of the ITLO Club, Hilldale, where he served as the Steward for over 20 years, and was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, the former Marlene M. Murray on March 12, 2016, grandson Sean Corcoran, and his brothers John, Patrick and Thomas Corcoran.

Surviving are his daughter Charlene Adamchick, and her partner Ron Kubicki, Plains, sons William J. Corcoran, Jr. and his wife Carol, Pittston Twp., and Brian Corcoran and his wife Cathy, Plains, grandchildren William J. Corcoran, III, Danielle, Cheryl, and Brett Corcoran, great-grandchildren Cameron, Oslo, Brook Lyn, Savannah, Charlotte, and Raleigh, brother Robert Corcoran and his wife Rose, Plains, sister Mary Caldarone, Rhode Island, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 9:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. A live stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
