Walter J. Sott, Jr., 78 of Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 22, 2024 at Regional Hospital of Scranton, Scranton, PA.

Born on November 3, 1945 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Helen (Pielak) Sott, Sr.

Walter was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1963, and spent his career in the United States Air Force as a Munitions Specialist.  Walter served from June 27, 1963 until his honorable discharge on June 30, 1983.

He was predeceased by his wife Patricia A. Sott on January 18, 2012, and his sister Mary Ann Mudlock.

He is survived by his sons John Sott and his wife Mary, and Charles Sott, all of Wilkes-Barre, Edward Sott, and Justin Sott and his wife Mary, all of Edwardsville, grandchildren Cassandra Sott, Joshua Sott, and Donovan Sott, great-grandson Caleb, sisters Poco King, Wilkes-Barre, and Vicki Kolesar, Exeter, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.  Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
