Thomas E. Smith, 66 of Plains Township, passed away Monday morning, November 30, 2015 at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Plains, Twp.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Thomas W. and Margaret (Sohoski) Smith.

Tom was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, and the Pennsylvania State University, earning a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He was employed as an engineer by Verizon until his retirement.

He was a member of Resurrection of the Lord Polish national Catholic Church, Edwardsville, Boy Scouts of America, Troop 100, Plains, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, The Irem Shriners, and Caldwell Masons Consistory.

Surviving are his sister Joyce C. Fiorucci and her husband Donald, and his brother Bruce D. Smith, all of Wilkes-Barre, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705.
