It is with extreme sadness to announce that after a four year long, valiant, courageous battle against lung cancer, Rose Mary “Blondie” Swaditch, 78 of the Hudson section of Plains, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at her lifelong home.

Born on December 7, 1943 in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Picketts) Novak.

She attended Plains Memorial High School and was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains. Rose was employed at John Heinz Institute, retiring after 27 years where she made lifelong friends and loved all of her co-workers. Rose always put her girls above anything. She attended every game, swim event from mini to junior to senior high. She was a rock after hard times for Mary and a rock for Kimmy after her tragedy. A true enjoyment of hers were trips to Atlantic City staying at Resorts Hotel and trips to the shores of Atlantic City and Wildwood, New Jersey, for family vacations when the girls were little. She was a kind, gentle soul who loved everyone and everyone loved her. It was her spirit that allowed her four more years with her family especially her great-grandchildren. However she always longed for her precious grandson (Ba Ba).

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Swaditch on April 2, 2019, grandson Robert Rynkiewicz, and brother Al Picketts.

Surviving are her daughter Mary Parada, with whom she resided, and Kimberly Rynkiewicz and her husband Robert, Mountain Top, granddaughter Jessica Stanco and her husband Jerry, sisters Elizabeth Novak, at home, Linda Rutkowski, Wilkes-Barre, Janet Pambianco, Plains, and Elaine Sabach, Hudson, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, her special niece Michele & Ike Wood, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends.

A special thanks to Steve Vitek for always including mom in their monthly dinners, even after her illness, and to the girls and guys at Allied Services who have been here for these last few years.

Funeral services for Rose will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 6:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Memorial Highway, Dallas. Family and friends may call Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
