Robert L. Langan, 86 of Wilkes-Barre, and formerly of Mountain Top, passed away Thursday evening, May 17, 2018 at the inpatient unit of Celtic Hospice, Geisinger South, with his family by his side.

Born in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late William L. and Clara (Kaminski) Langan.

Bob was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1950, where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams.  He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was employed as an installer for Bell Telephone for 35 years, until his retirement.

Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a member of the Edgewood Sportsmen Association, serving as Treasurer, Vice President, and President; The Clearwater Club of Canada; Buck’s and Doe’s Square Dance, and love to hunt in Shunk, PA.  He was a member of the Mountain Top American Legion, Post 781, the Mountain Top Lions Club, and was on the Planning Commission in Wright Township.

Being a high school wrestler, Bob enjoyed watching high school and college wrestling and as an avid Penn State Football and wrestling fan.  He attended high school wrestling at the District, Regional, and State Tournaments for over 45 years.  He traveled extensively throughout the world with his wife Lorraine.  He was a member of St. Jude’s Church, Mountain Top, where he served as an usher and was involved with their yearly bazaar, specifically lighting and power.

He was preceded in death by his brother Lawrence “Jack” Langan, and his sister Lorraine Galchefski.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former Lorraine Ehrlich, Wilkes-Barre, son Robert J. Langan and his wife Kelly, Mountain Top, daughters Diane Mangino and her husband Louis, Plains, and Lori Bozek and her husband Bill, Mountaintop, grandchildren Kara and Louis Mangino, Kellyann Mordosky, Jenniffer Arnold, William and Eric Bozek, great-grandchildren Tyler and Erin Mordosky, Liam, Ava, and Hayden Arnold, Giuliana and Liam Bozek, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors accorded by the United States Air Force and the Mountain Top American Legion, Post 781, with be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Jude’s Church, 420 South Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, PA  18707.  Those attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to church Tuesday morning.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.  Family and friends may call Monday evening, May 21, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
