Ritamarie R. “Rita” Silvi, 78 of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, March 26, 2024 at the United Methodist Homes, Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Twp., PA.

Born on October 16, 1945 in Bethlehem, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward T. and Frances W. (Soneki) Silvi.

Rita was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1963, and earned her diploma as a Registered Nurse from the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing.  She was employed throughout most of her career as a Critical Care Nurse in both New York City and Philadelphia.  Later in her career, she was employed by Independence Blue Cross of Philadelphia until her retirement in 1998.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Larry Martin, Prescott, AZ.

Surviving are her sister Winnie Martin, Prescott, AZ, and her brother Robert Silvi, Plains, PA.

Graveside services with inurnment for Rita will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming, PA  18644. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
