Patsy A. Evans, 74 of Bear Creek Twp., passed away to be with her Lord and Saviour, Friday morning, March 7, 2014 at Commonwealth Hospice at St. Luke’s Villa, Wilkes-Barre, with her family by her side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Minnie H. (Casterline) Shovlin.

Patsy was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1957, was a homemaker all of her life and was an avid traveler.   She was a member of the Beaumont Free Methodist Church, Buck Township, for over 50 years, where she was the “Pillar of the Church” and held many positions over the decades.  She was a committee member for over 20 years holding multiple positions, including Chairwoman of the Wilkes-Bare Christian’s Women’s Club, an affiliate of Stone Croft Ministries.  Patsy was also a Friendship Bible Coffee guide.  No matter where she went or who she met, she was a bold witness for her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sorely missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her sister Myrna Hudack, and her brother Richard Shovlin.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Robert Evans, children Cheryl Evangelista and her husband Mitchell, Robert Evans and his wife Linda, and Richard Evans and his wife Donna, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother William Shovlin.

Funeral Services for Patsy will be held Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street  Plains, PA  18705, with Rev. Joseph Gandia, Pastor of the Beaumont Free Methodist Church, Buck Township, officiating.  Interment will be held in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, Carverton section of Wyoming.  Friends may call Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
