Nancy P. Reinard, 83 of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday morning, April 26, 2021 at her home with her family at her side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Kitchen. Her annual spaghetti dinner was made with a minimum of 100 meatballs, there were never any leftovers. When her son discovered she was born on Nation Poultry Day, the family’s running gag resulted in numerous chicken related gifts bestowed over the years. She pretended to be annoyed but she proudly assembled them all in the kitchen which came to resemble a barnyard. Nancy loved to cook for her family. She always hosted Christmas Eve dinner and New Year’s Day the meal was pork and sauerkraut.

She was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre and attended Luzerne County Community College. Nancy was employed for First Eastern Bank, Blue Cross of N.E.P.A. and last as a hostess for Boscov’s Restaurant for 12 years, until her retirement.

She was a member of Parsons Primitive Methodist Church and the Ladies Aid of the Church.

Preceding her in death are her Husband Richard J. Reinard on October 14, 1985, granddaughter, Lauren Reinard, Sisters; Edith Bassler, Jean Swartwood, Betty Naugle, and Minnie Kitchen, Brothers John Kitchen and Harry Worke, adopted Mom, Florence Weaver and her dog Kiefer, who passed April 8, 2021.

Surviving are her Son William Reinard, Shickshinny, Daughter, Linda McGrady and her husband Bob, Plains; grandchildren Tracy, Zane, Caitlin, Tori and Liam Reinard; Ryan, Robert and Kyle McGrady; great-grandchildren, Austin, Reiley, Davin, Ryan, Rory, Rhys, Logan, Maddox, and Bodie; several nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township, with Pastor Andy Jerome, Pastor of the Parsons Primitive Methodist Church, officiating. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
