Mildred A. Hanahan, 82, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday morning, September 13, 2017 at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Mildred was the daughter of the late Joseph and Leona (Sobolowski) Snitko.

Mildred was employed for Wilkes University until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Robert Hanahan; Daughter Theresa Nearhoof; Brothers Joseph, John and Stanley Snitko; Sisters Valeria Makowski, Anne Boyle and Josephine Teri.

Surviving are her Sons Ralph and Richard Hanahan Wilkes-Barre; Sisters Helen Oriole, Poconos, Agnes Sabol, New Jersey, Jean Curtis and Theresa Levy, Plains and Florence Belcastro, Wilkes-Barre; Grandchildren, Shawn and Christine Hanahan, Johnathan and Justin Nearhoof, Great-Grandchildren, Breonna Hanahan, Giovanni, Ja’Brell and Deon Martin.

The family wishes to thank the Staff of Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Wilkes-Barre for all their kindness and care of Mildred and her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 at 9:30 am in Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas, PA.
