Mary A. Florio, 86 of Plains Township, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 26, 2017, at The Gardens at East Mountain, Plains, where she had been a resident for the past five years.

Born in the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Michaelena (Sklarowski) Klepadlo.

Mary was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1949, and was employed as the bookkeeper at Plains Paper for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains, until its closure and merger with Saints Peter & Paul Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Joseph L. Florio, on April 2, 2001, brothers Leo, Stephen, Stanley, Joseph, and John Klepadlo; sisters Helen Swenski, and Sera Yurek.

Surviving are her daughter Karen Rubasky and her husband David, Plains, granddaughter Angeline Rubasky, many nieces and nephews.

Mary’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Golden Living/The Gardens at East Mountain for their wonderful and compassionate care of Mary.

Funeral will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 8:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Saints Peter & Paul Church Food Pantry, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, or to the Plains Lions Club Mario Ercolani Scholarship Fund.
