Marie Theresa Horan, 89 of Kingston and formerly of Plains Township, passed away Thursday evening, August 16, 2018 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Wichowski) Kaczinski.

Marie was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, and Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was employed as a secretary at the Pennsylvania Unemployment Office, Pittston, and later at Joseph Gelli Insurance Company, Plains, until her retirement.

Marie was a lifelong member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains, where she received all of her sacraments and remained a member until 2005. In 2005, Marie relocated to Kingston and has been a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William J. Horan, on August 19, 2005, brothers Joseph, Charles, and Stanley Kaczinski.

Surviving are her children William Horan and his wife Nancy, Bear Creek, Susan Davis and her husband Thomas, and Michael Horan and his wife Lisa, all of Kingston, her grandchildren who she loved dearly, William, Kaela, Cole, and Taylor Horan, Matthew Davis, Emily Bergen, and Austin and Samantha Gardner, great-granddaughter Harris O’Neal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 20, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, 339 North Maple Avenue, Kingston, PA 18704, with Father Leo J. McKernan, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
