Marguerite J. “Margie” Evans, 83 of Plains Township, passed away Friday afternoon, March 11, 2022 at her home.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Thompson) Nossavage.

Margie was a graduate of Duryea High School and was a homemaker all of her life.

She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, its Rosary Society and volunteered at the church’s food pantry. Margie was also a member of the Plains Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Evans on March 2, 2007 and her sister Joan Pisack.

Surviving are her children Matthew Evans, Bear Creek, Lynn Evans and her husband John Heddings-Evans, Plains, and Michelle Desiderio and her husband Michael, Mountain Top, grandchildren Jessica Parada, Matt Evans, John Kochanski and his wife Heather, Jeffry Kochanski, Zac Evans and his wife Francesca, Amber Crivellaro and her husband Nick, and Rayleen Evans, 9 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Margie’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the wonderful care and compassion given to Margie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705. A Live Stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Family and friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:00 am until the time of service at church. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.

Memorial donation if desired may be made to Hospice of The Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive #7, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
