Lorraine R. McCormick, 81 of Plains Twp., passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, July 26, 2014, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains.

Born in the Hilldale section of Plains, she was the daughter of the late Geremiah and Lena (Grilli) Palmaioli.

Lorraine was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, class of 1950, and was self-employed as a Hair Stylist and was owner/operator of Lorraine’s Beauty Salon, Plains.

She was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church, Plains and was obedient in her love for the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her brother Primo Palmaioli and her brother-in-law Thomas Alesson.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, John J. McCormick, Plains, daughters Erin McCormick, Zionsville, Kelli McCormick, Pringle, and her son Shawn McCormick and his wife Kathleen, Harding, grandchildren Conor, Amanda, and Sarah McCormick, sister Jean Alesson, Plains, brother Geremiah Palmaioli, Jr. and his wife Florence, Hilldale, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Lorraine will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Christian Apostolic Church  757 North Main Street  Plains, with Rev. David Fischi, Pastor, officiating.  Friends and family are asked to go directly to church Wednesday morning.  Interment will be held in the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming.  Friends may call Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc.,20 South Main Street  Plains, PA  18705.
