Obituaries » Leona Lepore (Hatrak) February 6, 1937 - June 27, 2023 Service Date: July 1, 2023 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery Sacred Heart Cemetery Church Saints Peter and Paul Church Leona Lepore, 86 of Plains Township, passed away Tuesday morning, June 27, 2023 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Pittston and raised in Exeter, she was the daughter of the late Paul Hatrak, Sr., and Margaret (Malenda) Hatrak. Leona was a graduate of Exeter High School, Class of 1955. She worked for the Consolidated Cigar Factory, West Pittston until she met her husband of 62 years, the late Armand “Ducho” Lepore. Together they worked side by side in the family business, City Poultry, which then became City Mager in Wilkes-Barre and raised three children. Leona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She was a big fan of Neil Diamond and celebrated her 86th birthday by seeing A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical on Broadway. She enjoyed going to dinners with family and friends, going to Polka Weekend, and taking bus trips to Atlantic City. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making ravioli and meatballs for holiday dinners with her family. Everyone looked forward to her meals, which she prepared effortlessly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armand “Ducho”, brothers George and Leonard Hatrak, son-in-law Stanley Brunischeski, and grandson Joseph Osmanski. Surviving are her daughters Michele Brunischeski, Shavertown, Lisa Tatem and husband Michael, Franklin, VA, son Armand Lepore, Jr. and wife Michele, Miners Mills, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, brother Paul Hatrak, Jr. and wife, Josephine, Jenkins Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705. A live stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Those attending the funeral mass, please go directly to church Saturday morning. Private family interment will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
