Leo L. Kauczka, 84 of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday morning, April 8, 2015 at the inpatient unit of Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Muchinsky) Kauczka.

Leo was employed for Roth America and last for Carter Rubber, Wilkes-Barre until his retirement. Leo was an Army Veteran of the Korea Conflict and a member of the Nanticoke American Legion Post 350.

Leo was a member of St. Francis Church, Miners Mills, now St. Benedict’s Parish, Parsons.

Preceding him in death are his Brother Sylvester Kauczka and Sister Helen Disbro.

Surviving is his Wife of 60 years the former Mary Ann Levandowski, Daughters Carol Greenaway and her husband Kevin, Ballwin, MO, and Nancy Kauczka, at home, grandsons Ryan, Kyle, & Nolan Greenaway, brothers, Edward Kauczka, Kingston, Raymond Kauczka and wife Dorothy, Middleton, CT, William Kauczka and wife Lois, Endicott, NY, Thomas Kay and wife Sonja, Wilkes-Barre; Sisters Rosemary Rosen, Dallas and Sr. Maryalyson Kauczka, Reading, several Nephews and Nieces.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hampton House for the excellent care given to Leo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10:00 am in St. Benedict’s Parish/St. Dominick’s Church, 155 Austin Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18705. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends are asked to go directly to church Monday morning. There will be no calling hours.

In Lieu of flowers donations if desired may be made to the Charity of one choice.
