Lena DeBiase of Wilkes-Barre completed her life’s journey on the morning of August 24, 2015.

Born August 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jeanette (Bower) DeBiase.

Lena lived her life the way she wanted. Her inner strength inspired those around her, and her heart of gold will live on in her family.

Thirty-five years ago, Lena was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her fierce determination helped her overcome the odds and kick it into remission. In 2008, the cancer metastasized. Once again she fought a long, hard battle until the end. She leaves behind a family who will continue to draw strength and guidance as she watches over them.

Preceding her in death were her parents Joseph and Jeanette as well as other friends and family.

Surviving are her loving sister and best friend Marguerite Hargrave and her brother-in-law Dave, nephew David Hargrave and his fiancée Shirl Evans, nephew Dominic Hargrave and his wife Davian and their daughter Alexandria, niece Deanna Uniatowski and her husband Rodney and their daughters Erika and Megan and grandchildren Francisco and Olivia, niece Darlene Shaffern and her husband Dave and their daughter Chrys and her mate Donnie, niece Debra Krokos and her husband John and their daughter Sarah, nephew Derek Hargrave and his wife Melody and their children Caitlin, Justin and Logan. Last, but certainly not least, her beloved cat and spirit guide Sir Blaziken “Blazie”, whom we are sure will alert us when Auntie’s spirit is near. Auntie will be missed. Auntie will always be loved. Auntie will never be forgotten. Auntie 8-29-1940 – 8-24-2015.

A Celebration of Lena’s Life will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Our Lady of Hope Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart 100 William Street Dunmore, PA 18510.
