Joseph P. O’Donnell

Joseph P. O’Donnell, 81 of Exeter, passed away Monday evening, June 12, 2023 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born on March 9, 1942 in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Kathryn (Mantush) O’Donnell.

Joe was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1960 and was employed as Sheet Metal Mechanic at E.J. Rogan and Sons, Wilkes-Barre until his retirement. Joe was a lifelong member of the Miners Mills Triangle Club, where he served as an officer.  Joe was also an avid golfer, sports enthusiasts and enjoyed cooking.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Theresa Meinel and Catherine “Kitty” Pascucci, brothers Thomas, James and Patrick O’Donnell.

Surviving are his daughters Nancy Dennis and her husband Mark, Wynnewood, PA, and Susan Wood and her husband Chris, Villanova, PA, grandchildren Michael, Megan, Brett, Matthew, Daniel and Luke, brother William O’Donnell and his wife Nancy, Wilkes-Barre, sisters Ann Piccolo and her husband Dr. Anthony Piccolo, York, and Mary Solt and her husband Kevin, Egg Harbor, NJ, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 10:00 am in Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road Plains PA, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. A live stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page.  Family and friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at the church. Inurnment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township, PA.  Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 South Plains.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
