Obituaries » Joseph Madison January 9, 1934 - May 29, 2018 Service Date: June 1, 2018 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery Mount Olivet Cemetery Church Saints Peter and Paul Church Joseph “Joe” Madison, of Plains Township, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the age of 84. Born in Plains on January 9, 1934, to Joseph and Anna (Pelak) Madison. Joe was a life resident of Plains Twp., graduating from Plains Memorial High School in 1952 where he met his forever love, Christine Mido Madison. Joe and Christine attended many socials and enjoyed dancing the night away with their dear friends as part of a group called “The Bacala Club.” There were many moments where they were the only couple on the dance floor dancing their favorite dance the Polish Oberek. In addition to dancing, Joe was a talented drummer for the polka band “The Plains Brothers” and filled in as drummer for Eddie Derwin & The Polka Naturals. Among Joe’s multiple passions and talents, he also loved making and smoking his own kielbasa, while enjoying a beer or two next to the loyal family dog and managing and playing softball for the Hudson Service Men’s club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis Madison, John Madison, and Joseph “Junior” Madison. Joe and Christine spent a blessed 65 years together, raising a family of three and enjoying life. He was a loving father in body and spirit to his daughter, Janice Lillian Flibotte and her husband, Michael Charles Flibotte, Buzzards Bay, Mass.; daughter, Pamela Ann Lyons and her husband, Michael Lyons, Boonsboro, Md.; and son, Joseph Edward Madison and his husband, Paul Charles Luquin, Rehoboth Beach, Del. Joe is also leaving behind two beautiful grandchildren, Jared Michael Lyons, married to wife Evelyn Lyons, and Jacob Joseph Lyons; three great-grandchildren, Wyland, Zealand and Island Lyons; a beloved sister-in-law and beautiful niece, Mrs. Margie Madison, Binghamton, N.Y., and her daughter, Donna Madison; beloved family, Teresa and Richard Burrier and Janet and Butch Jones, who together have enjoyed many backyard barbecues. The funeral will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at 9:30 am at The Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Twp., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Entombment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
