Ledoretti, 87 of Plains, Township, passed away Sunday morning, July 9, 2017 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born March 22, 1930 in the Keystone section of Plains, he was the son of the late Premo and Epiphania (Mancini) Ledoretti. Joseph graduated from Plains Memorial High School, class of 1948, where he played in the High School Band. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving aboard the U.S.S. Bennington. In 1955 he opened Ledoretti’s Auto Service with his father. He worked 61 years alongside his son, brother/co-owner, and nephew until its closing this past October. He was a member of the He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Premo and Fannie. Surviving are his loving wife, the former Bernadetta Dunn, with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on August 31, son Joseph Ledoretti and his wife Patti, “The Love of his Life” granddaughter Jenna Ledoretti, brother Thomas Ledoretti and his wife Maureen, all of Plains, Twp., numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 9:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, PA 18702. The Parish Rosary Group will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary in the Church 30 minutes before the Mass. All are invited to attend. Entombment will be held in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville, PA. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Italian-American Organization of Luzerne County, where he was Man of the Year in 2006. Joseph loved music and dancing was his pleasure on Saturday nights. He always had on a smile and a very positive outlook on life. Above all, he was a very humble man.
