Jolyne L. Smith, 84 of Plains Township, passed away Friday evening, October 28, 2022 at her home with her son at her side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on July 2, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie (Lucarino) Gibbon.

Jolyne was a graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed as a secretary at Community Counseling Services, Wilkes-Barre.

Jolyne was a member of the Plains American Legion Auxiliary, Joseph E. Conlon, Post 558, The Henry Citizens Club, and the Italian American Citizens Club, all of Plains.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Dale G. Smith on March 22, 2016, son Gerald Ragugini, and her brother Paul Gibbon.

Surviving are her son Dino Ragugini, Plains, Best Friend Millie Ramos, 6 grandchildren, 9 grandchildren, sisters Jeanne Peters and her husband Dennis, Berwick, Joan Scorey, Wilkes-Barre, Faye Pawlowski, West Nanticoke, and Peggy Kennedy and her husband Chris, Mountain Top, brothers John Gibbon and his wife Mary, Mountain Top, and David Gibbon, Wilkes-Barre, sister-in-law Joan Gibbon,  several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA  18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating.  A Live Stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page.   Family and friends may call Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705 and from 9:00 am until the time of Mass Monday morning at church.
