John J. Haczewski, Jr., 53 of Plains Township, passed away Saturday morning, December 8, 2018 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born in Plains, he was the son of the late John J. and Theresa A. (Krysiewski) Haczewski, Sr.

John was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, class of 1982 and was employed as a HVAC Service Technician at Marx Sheet Metal and Mechanical Inc., Wilkes-Barre, for 17 years.

He was a member of the United Association Local 524 of the Plumbing and Pipefitting, was a teacher at the Union Hall for new apprentices, was a homebrewer, and was an avid model train collector. John was a jack of all trades who can fix anything and help anyone, anytime.

Surviving are his wife the former Bettylou Ridler, Plains, sons John Haczewski, Dallas, Neil Haczewski, Wilkes-Barre, Ian Haczewski, Plains, and Jesse Koncewicz, Wilkes-Barre, daughters Dorothy Haczewski, Hunlock Creek, and Paige Washinski, Plains, grandchildren Kaleb, Jacob, Arianna, and Colby, sisters Maryann Wynn, Wilkes-Barre, and Gloria Layaou, Dallas, his special friends Oreo and Penny, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Those attending the Funeral Mass are asked to go directly to church Wednesday morning. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Plains. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
