Jessie M. Lunnie, 94 of Plains Township, passed away Sunday evening, August 21, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Robert & Annie (Dunsmuir) Muir.

Jessie attended Plains Memorial High School, and was employed as a sorter by Consolidated Cigar Company of West Pittston. She was a lifelong member of the Plains Presbyterian Church, currently the Living Hope Bible Church, Plains, where she served as a trustee, and was on the Session Board and the Deacon Board. She was also a Den Mother of Boy Scout, Troop 100, Plains.

She was preceded in death by her husband John M. Lunnie on September 4, 1993, daughter Mary Cavella, Sister Margaret Muir, brothers James, David, and Alex Muir, son-in-law Vincent Perta.

Surviving are her children Elaine Perta, with who she resided, Nancy Baker and her husband Frank, Kingston, Anne Leo and her husband Joseph, Plains Doreen Coleman, Myrtle Beach, SC, Bill Lunnie, Edwardsville, and John Lunnie and his wife Nancy, Polk, PA, 23 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lunnie will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:00 am at The Living Hope Bible Church, 35 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705, with Rev. Mark Desilva, Pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am till the time of service at church Saturday morning. Private interment will be held in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Arrangements by the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
