James P. McAdarra, 75 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 23, 2016 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John & Rachel (Davis) McAdarra.

Jimmy attended G.A.R. High School, Wilkes-Barre and was employed by Simms Gas Station and Suburban Publishing Company. He also drove tractor trailer for many companies and last owned and operated McAdarra Demolition. After Jimmy’s retirement, he was a Foster Grandparent for 11 years at Head Start and City Heights Day Care, both of Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre.

He was preceded in death by his brother Larry McAdarra, and his step-son Joseph Spagnola.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, the former Donna L. George Spagnola McAdarra, daughter Kelly Marie McAdarra, step-daughter Jennifer Spagnola, both of Kingston, granddaughter Nicky Spagnola, who was Jimmy’s Pride and Joy and whom he raised since she was 2 years old, brothers George McAdarra and his wife Diane, and Ronnie McAdarra and his wife Sharon, all of Exeter, sisters Carol Lee and her husband Goldie, and Mary McAdarra, all of Wilkes-Barre, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 9:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Nicholas Church, 226 South Washington Street Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp., PA 18706. Family and friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
