Jacqueline S. Murray, 85 of Plains Township, passed away Saturday morning, July 30, 2022 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains.

Born March 15, 1937 in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late David & Bessie (Utter) Thomas.

Jackie was a graduate of Elmer L. Myers High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1956 and was a homemaker all of her life. Jackie worked part time at S.W. Woolworth, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company, Maffett Street School, Plains, and Carter Footwear, Wilkes-Barre. Jackie was also active with her sons, being involved as a Den mother at Cub Scout Pack 100, Plains, Plains Little League and Plains Yankee Football. She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains.

She was preceded in death by her brothers David, Robert, and Charles Thomas, sisters Marion Roberts, Florence Parry, Bessie “Betty” Stefanovich, Lois Dana and Shirley Siegel.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, William A. Murray, III, sons William A. Murray, IV, and his wife Gina, Wilkes-Barre, and Bruce D. Murray and his wife Kathleen, Plains, grandchildren William A. Murray, V and his wife Breah, Megan Murray, Eric Murray, Ryan Murray, and Benjamin Murray, great-granddaughter Lennon Murray, several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. A Live Stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Inurnment will be held in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at church. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children´s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in Jackie’s name.
