Henry J. Rodeghiero

October 7, 2023

Henry Joseph Rodeghiero, 85, of Yatesville passed away peacefully Saturday, October 7, 2023, at home surrounded by his adoring wife and daughters.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on December 27, 1937, and raised in the Westminster section of Jenkins Township, he was the son of the late Henry and Delphine (Materazzi) Rodeghiero.

Henry was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School, Class of 1955. He worked for Lispi Brothers’ garage, where he was treated like family and made life-long friends. He spent most of his career as a master mechanic for No. 1 Contracting Corporation.

Henry proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard 109th Artillery, in which he was a staff sergeant and received recognition as a sharpshooter. He was an avid hunter and along with his uncles and cousins founded the Deer Horn Sportsman Association. Hank loved spending time playing bocce with friends in the Yatesville Bocce League, where he won multiple championships. As a member of the Keystone Perugia club, Junior played in a weekly pitch league with friends and family. Henry was a charter member of the St. Maria Goretti Church and served on the building & grounds committee.

In his earlier years, Junior was a successful stock car driver and had a lifelong love for Chevys. Henry loved music and was an excellent singer and dancer. He loved to jitterbug with his forever partner, Red.

Henry was surrounded by love and is survived by the love of his life and wife of 64 years, Lorraine Pechalonis Rodeghiero, his children Maria O’Boyle (Joseph), Westminster; Gina Kelly (Andrew), Brielle, NJ; Robin Rodeghiero, Bear Creek Township; and Carla Rodeghiero (partner Tony Rossi), Philadelphia; grandchildren, Brian and Matthew Kelly, Yanna O’Boyle, Aaron and Chloe Kutney; sister, Marlene Simonson; nephew Gary Simonson, who was like a son to Junior; niece Lynne Simonson Lukasavage, sisters & brothers in law, nieces and nephews.

Whether he was known to you as Henry, Hank, Junior, Jun, Daddy, Nonno or Unc, he left an indelible impression on our hearts, and we are better people for having known him.

Henry’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Residential Home Hospice, in particular RN Katie Morris, massage therapist Carla Dietrick and aide Jamie Kizer along with home companions Robyn and Mary Lou who provided loving care and helped us make Henry comfortable at home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, PA  18702.  Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
