Helen L. Rakich, 94, of Laflin, PA, and formerly of Elmira, New York, passed away Wednesday evening, March 8, 2017 at River Street Manor Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Hilla) Hiskar. Helen was employed for Westinghouse of Elmira, New York, until her retirement.

Preceding her in death in addition to her Parents are her Husband, Samuel Rakich, Brothers, Michael, Edward and Emil Hiskar; Sisters, Marie Mrochko, Anna Ciravolo and Irene Stanchak.

Surviving are her Niece Mary Anne Parsnik of Laflin with whom she resided, and several Nephews and Nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 10:30 am in St. Maria Goretti Church, 42 Redwood Drive, Laflin, PA 18702, with Father James J. Walsh, J.C.L., Pastor, officiating. The Parish Rosary Group will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary in the Church 30 minutes before the Mass. All are invited to attend. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. There will be no calling hours.
