Elma M. Baird, 82, of Blakeslee, died Saturday morning, December 27, 2014, at her home with her Husband and Daughters by her side.

Born in West Pittston, Elma was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Hazel M. (Frame) Shafer Jr.

Elma was a “Super Mom” who was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her husband Walter E. Baird, shared 63 years of marriage together.

She was preceded in death by her brothers; Theodore and Harry Shafer, Sister Beverly Urgaris, and grandson Anthony Walter Arent, and infant great-granddaughter DeLainey Elizabeth Harris.

Surviving in addition to her husband Walter, are her daughters, Sharon Coady, Bushnell, Florida, Karen Butler, North Beach, Md., Eileen Baird, Hyattsville, Md., Jennie Arent, Wilkes-Barre and Marjorie Baird, Blakeslee; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, sister Zoe Smith, Pocono Lake.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705. There will be no calling hours.
