Holub July 8, 1928 - February 22, 2021 Service Date: April 26, 2021 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery Church Saints Peter and Paul Church Edward Paul Holub, 92 of Plains Township, passed away Monday evening, February 22, 2021 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born July 8, 1928 in West Wyoming, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Wedra) Holub. He attended West Wyoming schools and served in the Korean Conflict with the 432nd Engineer Construction Battalion in Germany and France. Edward retired from the Rex Shoe Factory after 37 years. He later worked in the cleaning department at Mellon Bank and the Bon-Ton in Wyoming. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Besides his family he loved working in his garden and playing his accordion. He loved music and taught the accordion to many students as well as playing with the band, Melody Combo. He was an ardent and loyal fan of the New York Giants. Ed was also a member of the Plains American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon, Post 558. He was preceded in death by his wife Theresa Sierko Holub on February 24, 2013, his brother, Joseph (Bernard) and his sisters Vicky Dziedzic and Betty Skibinski. He is survived by his son, Edward Holub Jr. and his wife Lee Ann, Luzerne, grandchildren, Justin Kotarski and his wife Nicole, Courtney Kotarski Grabiec and her husband Joseph, and great grandchildren, Hunter, Gavin, and Ryan Kotarski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. A live stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page. Private family inurnment will be held in the parish cemetery. Those attending the funeral mass, please follow the practice of social distancing, and masks are required at all times at church.
