Edmund F. Markowski, Sr., 75 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday evening, November 5, 2021 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

 Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Edmund W. and Helen (Zukowski) Markowski.

 Ed was a graduate of Marymount High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1964, King’s College, Class of 1968, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He also attended Penn State University.  He worked in sales for several organizations before becoming an entrepreneur; first opening a restaurant (Robin Hood’s Eatery) in Ashley, PA, and then wholesaling and retailing pet merchandise for over 25 years before retiring.

 Ed loved cooking, playing bingo, trips to the casino and spending time with his family.

 He and his wife the former Georgia L. Allabaugh, celebrated their 55thWedding Anniversary this past July.

 Surviving in addition to his wife Georgia are his daughter Kim Woytowich and her husband Jeff, Shavertown, sons Ed Markowski and his wife Monica, Downingtown, PA , Robert Markowski, Zolfo Springs, FL, grandchildren Tyler Markowski, Reagan and Reese Woytowich, and Ella Mae Markowski, great-grandchildren Leah Jade Markowski, Luca James Markowski, and Elijah Markowski, sister Diane Shuckers, Wilkes-Barre, nephews Jonathan and Christopher Shuckers, and former daughter-in-law Melissa Markowski.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, PA  18702.  Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.  Family and friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
