Dianna T. Zimmerman, 78, of formerly of Bear Creek Township, passed away Tuesday evening, September 14, 2021 at the inpatient unit of Residential Hospice, Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Hutz) Yatsko.

Dianna was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1961, and was employed early on at WBRE channel 28 and Consolidated Freightways as an administrative assistant and later as a pharmacy technician for 35 years at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital until her retirement.

Dianna, known to those who loved her most as Mom-Mom, was passionate about supporting her family.  She was widowed at a young age and successfully raised three teenagers on her own.  Whether it was helping her husband with Bear Creek Baseball, cheering on Chappy’s NY Giants, hosting numerous wonderful holiday gatherings for her extended family or babysitting her grandchildren for many years, Mom-Mom was her family’s rock.  She endlessly and effortlessly gave her children and grandchildren the support they needed to grow and learn with all she had to give. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her dearly beloved husband Charles “Chappy” Zimmerman on August 6, 1985.

Surviving are her children, Dina Mamola and her husband Luke, Dallas, James Zimmerman, Harvey’s Lake, and Kimberly Lewandowski, Wilkes-Barre, grandchildren Taylore, Paige, and Reese Lewandowski, and Kady and Peyton Mamola, sister Natalie Gomba, Plains, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Dianna will be held Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705, with Deacon Donald Crane, officiating.  Private inurnment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
