Christopher M. Coyne, 50 of Glen Mills, PA, passed away Monday morning, January 18, 2016 at his home.

Born in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Girard J. and Jacqueline A. (Brader) Coyne, of Parsons.

Chris was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1983, and the University of Delaware, where he played Center for the Fighting Blue Hens football team. During his senior year at Delaware, Chris was Team Captain and was selected to play in the Blue-Gray Football Classic, held on Christmas Day at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama. Chris had a short professional football career playing for the Indianapolis Colts, the Toronto Argonauts, and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Stallions. Chris also had a short career as a competitive eater, coming in as a runner-up in the infamous Wing Bowl, held in Philadelphia.

He was owner/operator of Medical Imaging Centers in Wilmington, Delaware and the surrounding area. He was also employed by CBS Sports, doing analysis for football and basketball. Chris loved fishing, boating, and barbecuing with his family and friends. Chris was an inspiration to all who knew him, especially his son Christopher and his numerous friends that he coached and mentored at Brandywine Youth Club and Garnet Valley High School. Chris was loved and remembered by all who met him, even if it was a brief encounter; he left a lasting impression on all. Chris wanted everyone to enjoy life. He often planned all of the activities with a goal of having as much fun as possible. He lived by the mantra, ‘We’ll do it all’!
