Christine Madison (Mido), better known as Bibsy Madison or Chris, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the age of 82.

Born a coal miner’s daughter, on March 12, 1935, to Edward and Lillian (Sweeda) Mido, Chris’s devotion to her parents was a special devotion.

Chris was a lifelong resident of Plains graduating from Plains Memorial High School in 1953 where she met her forever love, Joseph (Joe) Madison. Chris and Joe attended many socials and enjoyed dancing the night away with their dear friends and as part of a group called “The Bacala Club”. All of you who are reading this must remember a moment where they were the only couple on the dance floor. In addition to dancing, Chris also loved being outdoors, enjoyed the beach, roller coasters, haunted houses, cats, the fall, Christmas and had a talent for drawing and painting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Edward Mido.

Chris and Joe spent a blessed 65 years together raising a family of 3 and enjoying life. She was a loving mother in body and spirit to her daughter Janice Lillian Flibotte and her husband Michael Flibotte, Buzzards Bay, MA, daughter Pamela Ann Lyons and her husband Michael Lyons, Boonsboro, MD and son Joseph Edward Madison and his husband Paul Charles Luquin, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Chris is also leaving behind two beautiful grandchildren, Jared Michael Lyons married to wife Evelyn Lyons and Jacob Joseph Lyons; three great grandchildren, Wyland, Zealand and Island Lyons; a beloved sister-in-law and beautiful niece, Mrs. Margie Madison of Binghamton, NY and her daughter Donna Madison; beloved family, Teresa Burrier and Richard Burrier, who together have enjoyed many Easters, Christmases, birthdays, July 4th’s, and a multitude of backyard barbecues.

Funeral will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 at 9:30 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705. Entombment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
