She was born July 15, 1947 in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late Anthony T. Florio and Tina (Pallini) Florio.  She attended St. Mary’s High School and graduated from James M. Coughlin High School, Class of 1965.

She had a lifelong career in finance, working at Beacon Loan, Pennsylvania Liquor Stores, Standard Brands/Planters Peanuts, RJR-Nabisco Brands, retiring from Kraft Foods in 2012.  She enjoyed cooking and cleaning, organizing and decorating, reading, singing, and dancing, especially with the band, Chick Reeves & EZ Ride.  During her lifetime she volunteered with the Girl Scouts, the Wyoming Area Band, St. Vincent De Paul Soup Kitchen and Meals on Wheels.  In addition to enjoying her two-year retirement in her sunny-yellow kitchen, her greatest joy in life was spending the last 17 years in her role as LaLa to her six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Sorokin; her second husband, Charles Daugert; and dearest companion John Shepko.

She is survived by daughter Amy Sorokin Huntington and husband Richard A. Huntington, M.D.; son William A. Sorokin and wife Sharon Yashinski Sorokin; grandchildren Anthony, Christo, Michael and Gracie Huntington and Brandi and Billy Sorokin; sister Leah Florio Hendriks and husband Bill; several nieces and nephews.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of the Geisinger Henry Cancer Center, the nurses of Hospice of the Sacred Heart, caregivers of Home Instead Senior Care and her incredible group of friends from Kraft Foods who provided cards, flowers, phone calls, meals, and home visits during her struggles with ovarian cancer in 2006 and 2013.
