Charles Obeid, 86, of Plains, owner of Sheehans Pharmacy, Plains, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 2, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on September 14, 1936, he was the son of the late Abraham and Jennie (Solomon) Obeid and the youngest of their six children.

He graduated from Elmer L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1954 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1958.

Known as a true gentleman with a kind heart, he was a dedicated husband of 61 years to his beloved wife, Cassie (Cannon) Obeid. He was a loving father to his 5 children and a proud grandfather. He was a loyal friend and cherished those relationships throughout the years.

He owned and operated Sheehans Pharmacy for over 50 years and considered his employees and longtime customers as his extended family.  When not standing behind the pharmacy counter, he could be found playing racquetball, tennis or a round of golf and although not known to brag, he often mentioned his 5 holes-in-one. He enjoyed watching and encouraging his grandchildren in all their academic and athletic activities.  Charlie proudly served his country as an Army Reservist. He was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart/Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains. He was also very active in the Plains Rotary Club and numerous community organizations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, James and William and infant grandson, Andrew.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Charles Obeid and his wife Brenda, Pittston, Michael Obeid, Dallas, Lynn McCarthy and her husband John, Shavertown, Colleen Craney, Clarksville, MD and Thomas Obeid, London, England, grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Obeid, John McCarthy, III,  and his wife Rayna, Morgan, Madison, and  Owen Craney, siblings, Joseph Obeid and Miriam Obeid.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA  18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating.  A Live Stream of the Funeral Mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Parish FACEBOOK page.   Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Saints Peter & Paul Church. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.  Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705.
