Carolyn R. Binker

January 28, 1936 – February 16, 2024

 

Carolyn R. Binker, 88, of Wilkes-Barre, entered into eternal rest on February 16, 2024.

Born on January 28, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Caroline (Brown) Binker and was a lifelong resident of Wilkes-Barre.

She was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre.  Before retiring, she was employed by Wilkes-Barre Academic Medicine, an affiliate of Commonwealth Health, Pomeroy’s Department Store, and Liquid Carbonic Company.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Binker, Jean Schneider, Louise Hartman, and Rosemary Frost and her brother, Robert Binker.

Surviving are her sister, Dorothy Breault of Chicopee, MA, Shanna Messersmith of Wilkes-Barre, PA, whom she loved like a daughter, and her children, Brady and Isabelle Yourglivch, as well as many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre.  A Live stream of the Funeral Mass will be on St. Nicholas Church – Wilkes-Barre, FACEBOOK and YouTube Pages.  Family and friends may call Friday morning beginning at 9:00 AM, at the church, until the time of the mass.  Inurnment will directly follow the mass at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown, PA. Arrangements entrusted to Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA, 18705.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Nicholas Church in Carolyn’s name.
