Bridget Ann Serafin, 80 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday morning, February 17, 2023 at her home.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on June 7, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Piazza) Gabriele.

Bridget was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1960 and was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains. She was a homemaker and was employed by the Wilkes-Barre Area School District as a cafeteria worker, retiring in 2005 after 20 years of service.

Bridget was a wonderful cook and could often be seen watching the cooking channel. Bridget lived for her family and enjoyed having family gatherings at her home. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. Bridget married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Edward Serafin on January 12, 1963.

She was preceded in death by her sister Jenny Drobish, and her brothers John and Angelo Gabriele.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 60 years, Edward Serafin, Wilkes-Barre, are her children Jill Miraglia and her husband Mark, Plains, Richard Serafin and his wife Marian, Laflin, and Eric Serafin and his wife Rose Ann, Plains, grandchildren Matthew and his wife Madison, Mark, Joseph and Dominique Miraglia, Alexis and Evan Serafin, and Eryka and Ryan Serafin, sister Beatrice Darab and her husband John, Lansdale, numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA. Family and friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the time of mass at church. Those attending the visitation and/or funeral mass, please go directly to church Tuesday morning. A live stream of the funeral mass will be on Saints Peter & Paul Church FACEBOOK page. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
