Andrew J. Karaffa, 84, of Jenkins Twp. entered eternal rest on August 10, 2017 where he was reunited with his beloved wife Mildred (Piernock) Karaffa.

Born on March 17, 1933 in Port Griffith, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Begosh) Karaffa.

He graduated from Jenkins Twp. High School and pursued a lifetime career as a certified plumber. He was self-employed for many years then later in life was employed by the Sterling Hotel and Sunshine Markets.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son Allan and brothers Frank and Joseph.

Andrew is survived by daughter Carolyn Healey and her husband Tom, Hamburg, PA, son Andrew and his wife Susan, Reading, PA, son Ronald and his wife Mary Rose, Jenkins Twp., sisters Marion Krawietz, Doris Donnora and her husband Robert, sister-in-law Dolores Valvonis and her husband Joseph, and daughter-in-law Susan Karaffa, Scranton as well as several nieces and nephews.

Andrew was best known as Pop to his grandchildren; Allan Jr. and wife Danielle, Amanda and husband Jef, Tina, Andrew David and girlfriend Courtney, Erika and husband Derek, Christopher and girlfriend Stacy.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Tricarico and the staff of Wesley Village for their compassionate care.
