William R. Kozerski

William R. Kozerski, 63 of West Wyoming, passed away Friday afternoon, May 17, 2024 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains, PA, with his family by his side.  Bill passed away 24 years to the day of his beloved wife Nadine.

Born on February 1, 1961 in Plains Twp., PA, he was the son of the late William J. and Shirley Mae (Logan) Kozerski.

Bill was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1978, and Luzerne County Community College, earning his Associate Degree in Accounting.

Bill was employed at TRL Trucking, currently Prime Trucking for over 37 years.  While working at TRL Trucking, he was employed as CFO and CIO.  Upon the acquisition by Prime Trucking in 2006, Bill was employed as a Programmer Analysist specializing in Electronic Data Interchange.  Bill did whatever was necessary in the tech department.

He was a lover of music and enjoyed going to the theater, especially Broadway with anyone who would go with him.  Bill also took great pride in being an uncle and great-uncle to his many nieces and nephews.  He was also very devoted to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where he was an Ambassador Donor.  He was a life long member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Miners Mills, until its closure and merger.  Bill was dedicated to his family and friends.  He was a big guy with a big personality who left a big hole in all of our hearts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife the former Nadine Gardner on May 17, 2000, his sister Susan Landes, and his nephew Barry Matthews.

Surviving are his sister Virginia Chapman and her husband Peter, North Bend, WA, brothers Bruce Kozerski and his wife Elizabeth, Edgewood, KY, Thomas Kozerski and his wife Susan, Bear Creek Twp., and Michael Kozerski and his wife Katherine, La Grange Highlands, IL, brother-in-law Ken Landes, Tunkhannock, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Bill will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA  18705, with Father Rawel Toppo, officiating.  Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming.  Family and friends may call Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donation may be made to St. Jude Children´s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Bill’s memory.
