Violet M. Elick, 87 of Mountain Top, passed away Monday morning, April 6, 2015 at Smith Health Care Center, Mountain Top.

Born in the Keystone section of Plains, Twp., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Oley) Marckegiani.

Violet attended Sacred Heart School in Plains and was employed by Active quilting from 1972 till 1990. She was than a Foster Grandparent in West Pittston from 1995 till 2000. She enjoyed playing Bingo and her adventures to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Elick on November 30, 1969, sisters Lucille Conazzini, Josephine Spissinger, Lillian Sendrick, and Irene Hiller.

Surviving are her son Rev. David Elick and his wife Kathy, Mountain Top, daughter Joanne Temprine and her husband John, Avoca, grandchildren Sarah and Heather Elick, and Joseph and Jason Temprine, Jack and James Miller, great-granddaughter Madeline Olivia.

The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Smith Nursing Home for their devotion and excellent care of Violet.
