Victor R. DeAnthony, 77 of Plains Township, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2024 at Allied Hospice Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Born on June 10, 1947 in the Hudson section of Plains Township, he was the son of the late Victor A. and Dorothy T. (Binker) DeAnthony. Victor was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains, Class of 1965 and attended Technical School. Victor was a salesman and a small business owner all of his life, including Howard Duke Isaacs Car Sales, Bruni Battery, Digital Plus Wireless, United Gun Supply, and Coccia Ford. Victor’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, shooting, baseball, playing guitar, NASCAR, wine making, playing with his dog Riley, going to breakfast with his friends, and spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife, the former Marlene Snyder, would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on Monday July 29, 2024. Surviving in addition to his wife Marlene are his children Denise Drumsta and her husband Joseph, Scranton, Victor DeAnthony and his wife Denise, Seminole, FL, and Jeffrey DeAnthony and his wife Jill, Wilkes-Barre, grandchildren Joseph and Matthew Drumsta, Lindsy Kline, and Ryan DeAnthony, and Jeffrey, Katelyn, Justin, and Abigail DeAnthony, 4 great-grandchildren, sister Dorothy Jean “Dorie” Evans and her husband Daniel, Wilson NC, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Victor’s Life will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Inurnment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains. Family and friends may call Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
