Thomas C. McDermott, 52 of Bear Creek Township, passed away Wednesday morning, March 10, 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains, after a courageous battle against Cancer.

Born in Darby, PA, he was the son of Robert J. McDermott of Holmes, PA, and the late Carolyn Catherine (Speak) McDermott.

Tom attended Darby Colwyn High School, and was employed as a Bricklayer.

Tom was passionate about country music and country line dancing at Harvey’s Lake American Legion. He was an avid fisherman, loved Irish Bagpipes, was a Halloween fanatic, and was a lover of life. Tom lit up a room when he entered it. He made everyone feel special, and he held his family and friends dear to his heart.

Surviving in addition to his father Robert are his wife of 24 years, the former Patricia Devers, siblings Robert McDermott, Bridgeville, DE, Joseph McDermott and his wife Deb, Morton, PA, Carolyn Crawford and her husband Jim, Wyoming, DE, Frank McDermott and his partner Antoinette Kelly, Folcroft, PA, and Pat McDermott, Holmes, PA, brother-in-law James Devers and his wife Susan, Maple Glen, PA, many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to a walk through visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Those attending the visitation, we ask that you be brief when paying your respects, please follow the practice of social distancing, and masks are required at all times at the funeral home.
