Obituaries » Sylvia Ann (Shemanski) Conduff December 7, 1938 - July 21, 2024 Service Date: July 26, 2024 Funeral Home Corcoran Funeral Home Inc Cemetery Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Church St. Leo Church Sylvia Ann (Shemanski) Conduff, 85 of Ashley, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, July 21, 2024 at her home. Born on December 7, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Victoria (Sobota Melovitz) Shemanski. Sylvia was a graduate of Hanover Area High School, and was employed as a seamstress in the area garment factories. She was also a long time valued employee of Medical Billing Services. She was a member of St. Leo’s Church, Ashley, and the I.L.G.W.U. Sylvia adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and always looked forward to spending time with them. She especially looked forward to the holidays where she could spoil them all. She was an amazing baker and all who were close to her waited for her pumpkin rolls during the holidays. Her love of animals was immeasurable. She had many different dogs through the years. Sylvia loved spending time in her yard with her neighbors just chatting and laughing. She loved bazaars, skittleball and bowling for many years. While living in Pisa, Italy, she formed a bowling league for the children and taught them the mechanics of bowling every Saturday. Many of the children and her daughter’s friends would come to her house later to enjoy her pierogis and pancakes. She occasionally enjoyed going to the Casino. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Leroy N. Conduff on December 17, 2017, brothers Leonard, Joseph, and Robert Melovitz, and her sisters Theresa Burns, and Rosemarie Politz. Surviving are her daughter Lisa (Barr) Grilli and her husband Dr. Joseph Grilli, Jenkins Twp., grandchildren Dr. Christopher Grilli and his wife Dr. Jennifer Grilli, West Chester, PA, and Kaitlyn (Grilli) DiMarco and her husband Tony, Royersford, PA, great-grandchildren Maxwell Grilli and Cecilia DiMarco, sisters Delphine Bienick, FLA, and Frances Hopkins, Kingston, numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Leo’s Church, 33 Manhattan Street, Ashley, PA 18706, with Father Vincent Dang, Pastor, officiating. Inurnment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, at a later date. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at church.
