Podrasky, 65 of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday morning, November 18, 2023 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains, PA. Born on December 10, 1957 in Avoca, PA, he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Stella B. (Boris) Podrasky. Steve was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1975, and Wilkes-Barre Vo-Tech where he also earned certification in HVAC, Electricity and Electronics Technology. Steve also earned certificates in his field from Penn State University, Servo Motor Basics, Commetest, and The Mobius Institute. He was employed as a Supervisor at North End Electric. Many knew Stephen as the guy that could fix whatever needed fixing. If a project presented a challenge, his intelligence and determination would lead him to become an expert in the area. He loved to play golf, enjoyed music and attending concerts, but ultimately his true passion was to be with his family. Steve was a devoted husband, he and his wife, Susan Podrasky, celebrated 46 years of marriage on June 4, 2023. He was a loving father, and the most amazing Pop Pop a grandchild could ever imagine! He was a coach, a teacher, and an inspiration for his own children as he supported every endeavor they chose to peruse. Steve was always the biggest fan of his grandchildren’s achievements. Steve never wanted or had a desire to live a lavish lifestyle, he truly believed that he had it all because he had the love and loyalty of his family. He was preceded in death by his infant granddaughter Maya Marx. Surviving in addition to his loving wife Susan, are his daughters Stacie Marx and her husband Jason, and Desiree Phillips and her husband Matthew, all of Plains, PA, son Stephen M. Podrasky, Jr. and his wife Hannah, East Norriton, PA, grandchildren Jaxon and Jace Stephen Marx, Mila, and Cal David Phillips, and Ramsey Podrasky, sister Theresa Verdine, Pittston, and niece Ashley Verdine. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Memorial donations if desired, may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 East Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 and/or Miles for Michael 9 N.
