Stanley W. Zalenski, Jr., 69 of Plains, Township, passed away Friday evening, January 22, 2016 at his home after a courageous battle against cancer.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Stanley & Rosemary (Smith) Zalenski.

He was a graduate of St. John’s High School, Pittston, Class of 1964 and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Stanley was employed as a Lab Technician by Schott Glass Technologies of Duryea for 34 years. He was a Cross Country Coach at James M. Coughlin High School, and King’s College, both of Wilkes-Barre.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, the former Nancy Serino, Plains, sons Derek Zalenski, Plains, and Michael Zalenski, Englewood, NJ, daughters Kimberly Zalenski, Edwardsville, and Tracy Zalenski, Wayne, NJ grandchildren Audrey and Mark Zalenski, sisters Rosemary Krauss, Las Vergas, NV, and Clare Skolnick, Loveland, CO.

Funeral Services for Stanley will be private and held at the convenience of the family from the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street Plains, PA 18705.
