Olshefski, 91 of Plains Township, passed away Wednesday evening, August 31, 2022 at Allied Services Hospice, Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Edwardsville, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Coach) Olshefski. Stan graduated from Edwardsville High School, Class of 1949 and Wilkes-Barre Business School. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1954, attaining the rank of corporal. He was employed at Leslie Fay until his retirement, and then worked part-time at Sunshine Market until its closure. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Church, Plains. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, the former Ida Filippini, Plains, son Steven J. Olshefski, Tampa, FL, daughter Marie Coleman and her husband Pat, Kingston, 3 grandchildren, Steven Jr., and his wife Alex, Nanticoke, Megan, West Palm Beach, FL, and Brandon, Tampa, FL, great-granddaughter Lacey, Nanticoke, and special niece Pearleen Poplawski and her husband Walter, Drums. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saints Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, with Father John C. Lambert, Pastor, officiating. Those attending the funeral mass are invited to go directly to church. Interment with Military Honors accorded by the United States Army will be held in the Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming. In accordance with Stan’s wishes, there will be no viewing or calling hours. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children´s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the charity on one’s choice in Stan’s name.Stanley J. Olshefski
