Shirley M. Knowles, 85 of Plains Township, passed away Wednesday evening, January 4, 2017 at Kingston Health Care Center.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Harold A. and Marion (Akers) Grosdidier.

Shirley was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1950 and was a housewife and homemaker all of her life. She was a former member of the Plains United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Wayne Grosdidier.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years Chester A. Knowles, son Bruce Knowles and his wife Marianne, Hudson section of Plains, daughter Brenda Knowles, Ridgewood, N.J., grandsons Bruce Knowles and his wife Laura, and Ryan Knowles and his Fiancée Stephanie Scalfer, great-grandson Bruce Knowles, Jr., and great-granddaughter Makenzie Knowles.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 South Main Street, Plains, PA 18705.
