Born on August 22, 1960 in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Rudy and Jennie (Gustinucci) Georgetti of Plains Twp.

Rudy was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School where he was an outstanding football player for the Crusaders. He made the All-Scholastic Team for offense, as a guard, and for defense as a linebacker. He was nominated for the Big 33 Team and was considered one of the best players in the state. He continued his education and football career at the University of New Haven, Connecticut. In 1998, Rudy was elected to the Plains Sports Hall of Fame for football.

He was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, and managed the operations of Georgetti Painting Company, Inc., a family run, union based commercial painting business in operation for over 31 years.

Rudy loved spending time with his sons on the golf course. He was a member at Wyoming Valley and Fox Hill Country Clubs. He had the privilege of golfing on many prestigious courses over the past few years. He took great pride in both his sons’ accomplishments. He always looked forward to traveling with family and good friends. Rudy had a great personality and loved being around people. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Most importantly, Rudy got the most out of his life as he loved to have great times.

He will be forever missed by his wife Michele (Degnon) Georgetti, and his two sons, Rudy (19) and Ryan (18). Surviving in addition to his family and parents are his sister Deborah Georgetti-Piro and her husband Ernie, Great Falls, Virginia, and his brother Brian Georgetti, Gransonville, MD, numerous nieces and nephews.
